  • Craig Levein made two changes to the side that had progressed to the Third Round of the League Cup midweek with a 2-1 home win against Ross County. Unsurprisingly Barry Robson and Lee Wilkie returned to the starting lineup with David Robertson and Garry Kenneth dropping to the bench. New signing Jordan Robertson kept his place in the starting 11 following his scoring debut against the Staggies on Wednesday.

  • First League Goal - Dundee United 2 - 0 St Mirren

After a two week break due to a rather memorable international double header, United returned to SPL action this afternoon knowing a win against visitors St Mirren would see them end the day in third place in the table. Both managers made just a single change to their starting line up after experiencing contrasting fortunes in their previous fixtures. With Morgaro Gomis suspended following his red card in United’s 2-0 win against Falkirk, David Robertson was handed a slot in central midfield ahead of Mark Kerr who had to be satisfied with a place on the bench. Also on the bench were fellow midfielders Steven Robb and Greg Cameron, who had both managed to again make the squad following a period out with injury. St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson brought in forward Billy Mehmet in place of defender Alan Reid following his team’s disappointing 5-1 reversal at home to Celtic.

  • Two goals in the first half from Jordan Robertson and a late penalty from skipper Barry Robson gave United another memorable victory at Tynecastle this afternoon.

  • Last Appearance - Clyde 0 - 1 Dundee United

A solitary goal was enough to see United edge past Clyde into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup after a game which was high on perspiration, but largely lacking in inspiration on a dead surface. One moment of magic from Barry Robson gave United the deserved break-through, with the visitors having the bulk of the few goal mouth chances created.
