Of French and Irish dual nationality due to his parentage, Neil moved to Ireland from France at a young age and eventually graduated from the youth set up of UCD before signing for Shamrock Rovers. He moved to Barnsley in 2025 and a year later signed a 2.5 year deal with United.

Biography

Burn to a French father and Irish mother, Neil moved to Dublin aged 7, where he played with St James' Athletic, St Joseph's Boys and Belvedere before moving to the youth academy of UCD in 2015.

His first taste of senior football came in February 2017 with UCD, going on to become a prominent part of the squad who won promotion to the Premier Division in 2018. While with UCD, he also completed a degree in biomedical science, graduating in 2020.

Late in 2019, he left to join Shamrock Rovers, where he went on to spend over five seasons, winning four league championships, one FAI Cup and a two-time winner of the Presidents Cup.

Although born in France, he represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level in 2017 and 2019.

His form earned him a January 2025 move to EFL League One side Barnsley. Midway through the following season, he agreed to join United for an undisclosed fee, signing a two and a half year contract.
