Biography
Of Turkish Cypriot descent, Aziz began his career in Australia with Green Gully SC and the David Beckham Academy before making his professional debut for Melbourne Victory in 2009.
After spells with Hume City and Melbourne Heart, he moved to Turkey, spending six years at Bursaspor and earning over 50 caps for Australia.
A 2015 Asian Cup winner, he also featured at the 2018 World Cup and later played for PSV Eindhoven and Giresunspor.
Aziz joined United in July 2022 on a two-year deal and quickly became a fan favourite, impressing with his energy and flair down the left flank.
During the mid-season World Cup in Qatar, he became the first current United player to appear in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Early in the 2023–24 campaign, he completed a permanent move to Melbourne City after remaining in Australia following the summer break.
United later received a significant windfall—reportedly over £500,000—when a sell-on clause was triggered by his transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
