Only in the second half did this Tayside derby spring into life and twice in the opening five minutes of the second half, we had Alan Combe to thank for keeping us on level terms. The second, a one-handed save from Grant in the 50th minute, was quite outstanding.

Things seemed to be going our way when Billy Dodds directed Kjell Olofsson's cross from the left past Alan Main to open the scoring two minutes later. That advantage was short-lived - three minutes to be precise as Roddy Grant converted a penalty after Craig Easton brought down Gary Bollan in the box. We might have not even had the comfort of a point had Bernard Pascual not headed a Kernaghan overhead kick off the line ten minutes from the end as our poor run of results at home continued.
