The game flowed from end to end and both sides had chances. United started the second half well and McIntyre scored a great equaliser from a tight angle. United continued to press but Hearts went back in front against the run of play after De Vries got a huge slice of luck when he hit a shot well off target only for the unfortunate Mark Wilson to deflect the ball agonisingly into his own net. The game ended as a contest when McKenna netted a third for Hearts and despite playing with three up front United could find no way back.
