There is, at least so far, no question over United's away form in the Championship, having grabbed three second half goals without reply to account for Ayr United at Somerset Park.

On the back of last week's draw at home to Dunfermline, Declan Glass came in to the starting lineup to replace the injured Craig Sibbald, who misses out alongside Kieran Freeman.

An early chance for defender Kevin Holt inside the eighteen yard box was capably held by Charlie Albinson in what was United's first real chance ten minutes into the match.

On 28 minutes, Glass fed the ball to Louis Moult inside the box, and the striker was denied only by a well timed block from Sean McGinty as his shot from angle was diverted wide.

Albinson was fast becoming the star of the show for the home fans, gaining plaudits for another fine save, from Ross Docherty this time, who hit a right footed shot from 25 yards destined for the top corner that the Ayr keeper had to tip away.

The keeper's heroics came into play again shortly after when Moult fired at goal with the outside of his foot, forcing Albinson to tip past.

United had some to do at the other end, most notably dealing with a dangerous ball into the box from Aiden McGeady, but it was proving an otherwise quiet afternoon for Jack Walton.

The second half started as the first had ended, with Albinson again thwarting Moult with a save from a curled shot from an angle on 54 minutes.

In the end, the Englishman could do nothing to prevent the eventual opener. A well taken corner from Glass met its target as Kevin Holt rose above the defence to steer beyond the grasp of Albinson to make it 1-0.

The next goal is one to look back on as a teaser. A through ball from Matthew Cudjoe found the front man Moult and with a first time lob, he hit the ball over Albinson. The keeper then caught the ball, but momentum carried him backwards and over the line! Referee Nick Walsh proceeded to award the goal, and credited it to Moult.

As quickly as that, United were in firm control and at a canter. A chance for Glass to extend the scoring flew wide of the target moments later, and at the other end Walton steered away a long range try from Jack Young.

The remaining say was left to Holt who this time side footed past the keeper, getting on the end of a great delivery from a Kai Fotheringham corner to score United's third, and his second of the afternoon.
