Ibrox, so often a burial ground for United hopes appeared to be just so again, well up until the hour mark. In the first half we rarely threatened as Rangers, with their big money buys, were inspired by their player/manager Graeme Souness. There was a brighter start by United at the second half but still Rangers dominated. Around the hour mark we began to make some impact on the game and Eamonn Bannon's probing ball upfield was chased by Kevin Gallacher. Terry Butcher and Stuart Munro made a hash of clearing the danger and Kevin nipped in to pull one back. Quarter of an hour later Kevin Gallacher was again on hand to beat Woods after Ian Redford flicked the ball into Kevin's path. The drama continued as United chased the winner. A quick free-kick on the right allowed Eamonn Bannon to get in a cross which Ian Redford rose to nod past a stranded Chris Woods. What a comeback and victory.
