And it paid off for Rangers when after a goalless first half Jim Forrest nipped in in 48 minutes to grab the lead and shake United into renewed efforts. Billy Ritchie produced save after save of truly high class to prevent United's attempted comeback from paying off before Forrest raced away in the dying minutes to add to Rangers lead.
