3 - 3
Supplementary Cup (1st Round 2nd Leg)
John Ross (28)
Geo Watson (75)
Albert Juliussen (81)
J.Jackson (Glasgow) (Referee)
Out of luck and out of the cup, that's St Bernards position.
As far as United were concerned the battle was won on the playing fields of Tannadice, not on the battle ground of Gymnasium.
Referee Jackson was a most unpopular official. He turned down at least 3 penalty claims by the Saints, and gave United a soft one. He even awarded St Bernards a goal, and then changed his mind. Then he took Logies name in is wee black book.
The crossbar saved Brownlie's charge twice. Dougan and Logie were the sufferers. And the number of near things was legion. With their opponents luck Saints might have been in the next round ballot.
It was a battle royal and no mistake. Juliussen did not repeat his six goal feat this week. He was not impressive.
Simpson and Adamson created impressions in more than one direction. Ask the St Bernards players with whom they came into contact.
Outstanding in an enthusiastic Saints eleven, were Dingwall, Wood, W Wilkie and Logie.
