This was a night to forget for United. The Scottish side required to win this away leg to progress but were given a mountain to climb when Dinamo Moskva scored the opener after just two minutes.
As the game progressed and Houston's team pushed to get back into the game, they were picked off a further four times in front of their travelling support of around 250.
The first goal came from a great pass by Artur Yusupov who found Marko Lomic wide left. His cut back was fired home first time by Igor Semshov.
The tie was effectively over midway through the first period when Dinamo again opened up the United rearguard. Dzsudzsak lofted the ball across to Kokorin, who powered home a header for the Russians' second.
The third came five minutes from the interval, Artur Yusupov sped clear before rolling the ball past Cierzniak. United's best effort of the opening period came just before its completion, Willo Flood's curling free-kick from 25-yards being tipped over by the home keeper.
Chances went a begging for both sides in the second half before sub
Aleksandr Sapeta surged through the heart of the United rearguard with seven minutes to go, and dinned the ball over Cierzniak. Aleksandr Sapeta Scored his second five minutes later to complete a dismal night for United.
