All too often recently this fixture seems to have been bedevilled by either of the worst of the winter elements. Rain and snow have wrecked previous encounters as spectacles, but in this instance, a gale force wind reduced proceedings to near farce at times. With the wind at our backs in the second period we had the greater share of possession, but a Paddy Connolly shot which curled fractionally past was as close as we came to breaking the deadlock in that second period. The true winner in this contest was the wind with a share of the points just about right.
