Match Report

The Tangerines won their sixth warm-up match for the new season when they beat hosts East Fife thanks to goals from Derek Lilley and Craig Easton. Analysing the match earlier today, Manager Alex Smith stated: “After a somewhat slow first half, we really came to life after the interval when we lifted the pace of the game creating a number of fine chances and scoring two goals. Lilley scored first from eight yards after clever work by Duff and Smart, and then Easton, on a counter-attack, followed suit thanks to excellent service provided by Lilley and Smart. New signing Smart has worked hard and is getting close to match fitness and is showing up well, which we hope will reflect itself in goals for the Club. It was another outstanding performance from our young man Duff in the left full-back position as well as on the part of Mark Wilson, while McGowne and Lauchlan were impressive also. And, not least, it was a first team debut for Graeme Holmes who came on in the last 15 minutes of the match and produced some very promising touches.
