Match Report
United topped the Premier Division and their fixture that afternoon carried a real top v bottom label as we met stragglers Kilmarnock. However, conditions can be a great leveller and Rugby Park was covered with slippery snow, but both sides served up some entertaining football. In the first half we had commendable efforts from Paul Sturrock, Graeme Payne and Andy Rolland. In the second half the home side's more direct, if less refined, approach reaped reward and lan Fallis scored their winner in 75 minutes with a diving header. Only several saves by Hamish McAlpine prevented even greater embarassment as the foot-of-the table team grabbed the points.
