Match report
Andy Gray put United in front after 16 minutes with a brilliant goal. Andy Rolland headed into the crowded penalty box, Andy Gray was on the spot to wheel round and beat Marshall. Arbroath's John Fletcher rounded McAlpine to equalise 10 minutes later. A headed pass by Andy Gray to George Fleming led to United's second, which George Fleming fairly thumped home. Arbrcath fought hard but any lingering hopes of a point were wrecked when substitute Tommy Traynor scampered down the right wing and crossed for Andy Gray to head in a third.
