Midfield congestion produced little by way of chances until Durrant broke clear but Alan Main got down quickly to block his shot. A minute before the interval we took the lead with a great goal. Mixu Paatelainen picked up a loose ball, evaded challenges by Gough and Roberts and strode on to crack a left foot shot past Woods .

Rangers got the equaliser midway through the second half when Ian Ferguson got a touch on to a Nisbet cross and the ball fell to Mark Walters, whose early strike beat Alan Main. The game appeared to be petering out as a draw until the final three minutes. Nicholl cleared an Eamonn Bannon shot off the line and in the dying moments substitute John Clark burst clear but his fierce shot struck the side netting.
