Match Report
Rangers went ahead in 10 minutes Derek Parlane scored at the second attempt after Hamish McAlpine had saved his effort. Tommy McLean was brought down in the box by lain MacDonald in the 37th minute and Sandy Jardine netted from the spot for Rangers' second. United struck back just after the interval when George Fleming controlled a Wattie Smith cross before lashing a drive past Kennedy. The Ibrox side soon restored their two-goal lead with a Tommy McLean goal. Hope for United was restored when Colin Jackson headed the ball over his own 'keeper. Rangers, however, sealed the issue when Sandy Jardine lobbed the ball in from around 30 yards.
