Match report
United extended their aggregate lead to 8-1 by the final whistle but failed to produce the fluent football which had been so much in evidence in the first leg. Richard Gough headed the opener from an Eamonn Bannon cross after 11 minutes for his third goal of the tie.
Davie Dodds, also with a header, this time from a Ralph Milne chip, completed the scoring in the 69th minute. By winning this tie United now join Alloa, Morton and Motherwell in Section One of the third round stage.
